Book Review : Shed Style, It sure is

I don’t normally do book reviews, as my editorial skills are not upto much, but If I do like something I will try (plus it had great pictures!)

After getting a mention ages ago on her website, I’am the “bad boy of sheds”!!

I was happy to do a quick review of Debra’s Wonderful Shed Style book – Stylish Sheds and Elegant Hideaways, when I got a copy last month… (thanks Debra for sending me one!)

The thing that grabs you is the quality of the photos (taken by William Wright) best shed photos in a book I have seen for a long time.

Some of the sheds mentioned are very well built but of course (and expensive) us UK sheddies may think they are a bit posh, but its obvious that the owners have gone to a lot of trouble and love and attention, so any shedism about American shed should be forgotten about straight away!.

My favourite shed in the book is Heart of the Country

It’s a mishmash of antiques and junk picked up by the owners Janie and Billy Fowler and is one of 4 sheds that they have used to bring Americana to their garden..

I would love to have 4 sheds and be able to bring the whole of Britishness into a garden, with old signs, beer bottles, tools and various stuff…. a great inspiration.

The other great thing about the idea is that Debra has carried here journey on, with her blog, I do hope she comes out with a 2nd book as this one is a great shed table book to read and realise that there are all sorts of great sheds out there (not that you don’t get that from my site already!)
