Not posted for a while due to illness, but had to post this from my sickbed, still got a type of flu but feeling a lot better but still under the doctor (as we say in Wales).
You may have remember sheddie & artist Elena Thomas asked for some sheddies who wanted to get there sheds covered in fabric! Well she has just gone and done it.
Working with fabric on sheds has been a meandering development from the quilts, ending in one of those “light bulb” moments when I found myself sat in the garden in freezing November rain, glueing fabric onto the garden shed while my husband was at a football match. This has caused laughter, bewilderment, and most satisfyingly, the changes of heart from cynics once the task is complete and a patchwork, flowery building sits comfortably in the corner of their garden. It becomes mellow, mixes in between the plants and flowers as if it has always been like that.
I’ve just added some new photos of the sheds I’ve just done on some allotments on the top of a hill in Newcastle-Under-Lyme.
See more over at Elena’s website.
Thanks sheddies, and Uncle Wilco for support – couldn't be doing it without you!
