With the excellent Shed Calendar 2011 featuring shed week dates (more on chance to win a copy soon) this fell into my shed inbox.
Friends of readersheds and former “Shed of the year hit punk single for shed week mungers” Punks Not Dad are trying to flog a Dadvent to fund their next single and have made a video, I bite the PR hype as there was a shed at the start.
Ageing Punks Spread ‘Dadvent’ joy
Welsh Legends PUNKS NOT DAD have taken the unusual step of making and selling advent calendars to fund their latest CD Release.
“We made a few last year as a joke and we were overwhelmed by people asking for one,”’ explains lead singer Sid Life Crisis “So this year we’ve made a load more. We called them Dadvent Calendars, because it’s about time Dads had something to look forward to in the run up to Christmas to take their minds off shopping, Man Flu, the in-laws and carol singers. Behind every window is a picture of something that appeals to Dads. Obviously we can’t tell you what, cos that would spoil the surprise. All the money will help to get our next CD out as we are completely skint. “
The front features pictures of the band, along with stills from the bands recent video shoot, starring BBC Wales presenter Lisa Rogers. The video will be released in January along with the new ‘Retail Therapy’ EP- if we sell enough calendars.
