An estate agent Peter Gilkes is selling this great example of a loved shed.
It looks more like a garden shed than a thriving business, and at £10,000 this former hair salon’s virtues are definitely well hidden.
The rickety cabin on the side of Preston Road, in Clayton-le-Woods, is only 3.7m by 4.3m in size, and barely bigger than the average lounge.
However, the once-bustling hair salon has already had more than half a dozen viewings since coming on the market in January.
Estate agent Peter Gilkes, who is promoting the building, said: “It’s received an awful lot of interest, which I’m not surprised about because it’s an unusual, economically-priced property.”
The business was operated by an elderly woman for decades.
She reduced her opening hours to just a few per week before closing in the middle of last year.
Her son Paul Rigby is selling the building on behalf of his mum.
Mr Gilkes admitted: “The cabin is not in very good condition, but it is capable of being replaced with a more substantial building and it’s in a prime location.”
