An interesting concept at this years Grand Designs Live Birmingham after another rubbish summer “24 hour garden” included outdoor carpets and I thought you sheddies did some strange but interesting stuff.
To prove the all year round versatility of a garden, Grand Designs Live has introduced a brand new feature to its show at the Birmingham NEC, running 7th – 9th October,‘The 24 hour garden.’
Featuring weather resistant furniture–even outdoor carpet – heating solutions, outdoor lighting, entertainment technology and alfresco dining ideas, this innovative and hard to miss feature at the heart of the exhibition in Grand Gardens, shows visitors how they can use their garden as an extra entertaining and living space all year round.
At ‘The 24 Hour Garden,’ visitors will experience seasonal changes with inspirational and interactive Show Gardens transforming from day to night in minutes, rather than hours. There will be three different garden styles to view designed by David Robinson from ‘Up the Garden Path’ and his team of landscapers, who will also be at the show offering free advice and answering questions on the show gardens:
The Ambient ‘outdoor living room’ – a stunning concept garden where the entire floor is water and the walling grass tiles. There will be a ‘floating carpet’ where a fireplace and two chairs will sit. Across the water will be illuminated paving tiles and floating light spheres.
The Tranquil Escape – a peaceful, romantic and soft area with a unique boulder lounger carved by ‘The Stone Chef’ balanced over a whitewashed deck, surrounded by whispering grasses and driftwood panelled walls.
The Contemporary Kitchen garden for entertaining – An unusual outdoor kitchen with an interesting tea cup wall and a bold coloured dining set from SixInch.
so hopefully sheddies that visit can take some ideas for their gardens for next year – as it can’t all be sheds!
