We are not getting a lot of new threads on the shedblog forum as previously (mostly my fault as I don’t have the time to work with you guys) plus it’s causing some technical issues with the shed blog installation
So Iam planning on shutting it down in it’s current form (some time in Feb 2012)
Of course if you feel that we don’t need a forum replacement – then maybe I can post sheddies questions on the main blog and you guys can answer them via the comments system.
but if we are doing to keep it(looking for feedback on that below)
Iam looking for a standalone solution that uses thirdparty software so I don’t need to maintain (as lots of spam attempts at the moment) but can still do the following
1) Pull in the content onto readersheds and shedblog – via full RSS
2) Allow sheddies to manage their posts and maybe become moderators.
3) does not cost me more than £10 a month 🙂
all idea welcome
thanks wilco
It's a good question, I've seen forums that are very active and some that got rapidly overtaken by spam. Looking at a couple of that I use, one is using "ProBoards.com" and two http://www.vbulletin.com
Not sure if I am understanding this properly…. But could you just have comments after a blog posting and not have the forum? Or have guest bloggers on particular subjects that are of interest – have to say havent used the forums myself.
yes reading it back it does not make much sense ! but yes comments after the blog may be the way to go… thanks
